2011 Spring and Summer Sales List

2011 marks our 31st year breeding "horses to match our mountains."  We've always emphasized naturalness of gait, sweet disposition, substantial bone, athletic ability and beauty.  Central to our breeding program for the last decade was the late Pride Piper, the last standing son of Pride of Midnight H.F., known for his barefoot running walk, light-shod show record (including a reserve championship at the Celebration), and striking appearance.  His son Piper's Pride of Absaroka, a powerful, athletic chestnut like his sire, is now producing tall, athletic colts.  (With Pride, at age three, Dan rounded up our cattle in the hills alone, then went the next day to a show where he took five ribbons!)  Absaroka Silver Dollar is ultra-gentle, grey, and powerful.  We’ve been particularly pleased with Dollar foals from Piper mares.  Lastly, we’ve added Bubba the Gaited Jack to answer the growing demand for gaited mules.  We’ve been extremely pleased with his first two foal crops and are enjoying this new endeavor of producing “long-ears” with their mothers’ head-nodding running walks.  

            In an endeavor to ease our work load Emily and I are listing our outstanding, proven broodmares for sale this year.  They can be bred to suit, to Dollar, Pride or Bubba. 

Please note:

• All horses are registered and blood-typed.

• All prices include transfer of registration and brand inspection (required in our state even though the horses are not branded).

• All prices subject to change (particularly as horses progress in training).

• For horses currently in training, “started” refers to approximately thirty days training including ground work and 10-15 rides.  “Well-started” indicates considerable riding on the ranch outside of the arena.  A performance checklist is kept showing the accomplishment of each horse and is updated after each session.

IN TRAINING
	Ruthie—named after Festus’s mule in the Gunsmoke series, Ruthie is a 3 year old Molly mule by Bubba out of Dollar’s Absaroka May.  She showed a running walk from birth, and now, under saddle, a bold over-striding flat walk and a developing running walk.  Extremely friendly, Ruthie comes from the pasture when called.  Now measuring 14 hands, Ruthie should mature to a solid 14.2, large enough for average adults and perfect for packing.  $3900.  SOLD
	Pride’s Absaroka Lucky—A 3 ½ year old grey gelding by Piper’s Pride of Absaroka out of Dollar’s Absaroka May, Lucky is a big, laid back, personable horse that should mature in the 15.2-16 hand range.  The price reflects 30 days of training.  $4500.
	Dollar’s Diamante—Diamante and Angelina (see below) would make a wonderful matched pair.  They look alike and have wonderful attitudes and gaits.  These four-year-old mares are ¾ sisters by Dollar out of daughters of The Pride Piper.  $4000 each.

	Rodeo’s Sonny—With a wonderful disposition and gaits, Sonny is currently 14.3 and will probably mature at 15 hands.  He’s four years old, shod and ready to go.  $4500.
	Piper’s Suzy Q.—is a six year old mare directly by The Pride Piper and out of Absaroka Suzy.  A full sister to our stallion Piper’s Pride of Absaroka, Suzy Q. has irreplaceable bloodlines.  She was started briefly under saddle at three, then produced a foal, and is now back in training as an ultimate mare for saddle, show, or breeding.  $10,000. 2010 MULE FOALS All remaining 2010 mule foals (now yearlings) are on sale for $2250 until April 30, 2011.  You pick!  All but Ruby are out of premium registered TWH mares.
	Beauty—Molly mule out of a Piper mare.  Has grown since photo into a stocky, powerfully-built yearling.
	Holly’s Hubert—gelding John mule, bay, very large and powerful. SOLD
	Lily—beautiful sorrel Molly out of a Piper mare that is also dam of Dan’s well-known gelding Partner.
	May’s Grey Ray—dark, solidly-built gelding John mule, will grey out.
	Ruby—huge, friendly Molly out of registered Belgian mare.
	Zorro—friendly gelding John mule out of Suzette, Piper mare that’s a full sister of Piper’s Pride of Absaroka.
