They are hungry because they can’t work. If more people give money, then they could buy more food. If people who have enough money gave poor people money to buy food, they could eat it and would not be hungry anymore.

How We Started!
We really got interested in this Hunger Fighting last December when we received a letter from the Montana Food Bank asking if we could help them feed the hungry people of Montana.
They can feed eight people for every dollar they get. All four students shown above (the entire student body in Nye this year), assisted by teacher Kathy Currie, decided to help.
We collected money at our Christmas show and were amazed that we raised $57.54. The money was sent to the food bank. Then we received a great thank you letter from Mr. Mark Brennan at the Food Bank. Click Here To Read Letter. He called us the "Hunger Fighters" and the name stuck.
Later, Mr. Brennan actually came to our school. He spoke to us about the problems with hunger in Montana and the World and even gave us "Hunger Fighter" shirts.
We earned an additional $104.00 at our annual Pie Auction bringing our current total to $161.54. That's enough for 1,292 meals and we aren't finished!
If you would like to help us fight hunger, you can send donations to the Hunger Fighters at:
